Wor. Bro. John Henry Revell

As some of you are aware Wor. Bro. John Henry Revell passed to the Grand Lodge Above on Fri. Nov. 16/01 in his 93rd year. Wor. Bro. Revell was initiated, passed and raised in Brant Lodge. He was Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1968. The following are items of interest of Wor. Bro. Revell’s year as Worshipful Master of Brant Lodge taken from the minute book of the Lodge.

During his year he initiated 11, passed 8 and raised 4. He had 3 Memorial services for departed Brethren and 13 members passed to theGLA. Wor. Bro. Revell was installed on January 9/68 and he was presented with a gavel made by Bro. G. Arthur Lawson who made the gavels for the new Worshipful Masters. The officers were declared installed and invested by R. Wor. Bro. Allan E. Broadley, DDGM.

In February Wor. Bro. William Isbister brought a Scottish Rite degree team and they initiated Mr. George B. MacAulay. In April Wor. Bro. Arthur Anderson of Onondaga Lodge brought his Indian Degree Team in full regalia and they raised Bro. Glen M. Porter. In June Wor. Bro. M. R. Angus brought a Massey-Ferguson Degree and they initiated Mr. Kent Motheral and Mr. Albert Reid. In October a 60 year pin was presented to Bro. Harold Nobel and 50 year pins were presented to R. W. B. R. W. E. McFadden, Bro. John A. Campbell and Bro. R. E. McIntyre. In November Wor. Bro. David Ritchie led a side benchers degree team and Mr. John Kingdon and Mr. Robert Waud were initiated. At this meeting Wor. Bro. Jack Revell presented a new VOSL to the Lodge and Bro. Harry Chivers presented the bible markers. These items were dedicated by Bro. Rev. Charles Inder.

The December meeting was election of Officers and the following Officers were elected WM Bro. Harry Chivers; SW Bro. Norm Ellis; JW Bro. James Michie; Treasurer Bro. Michael May and Secretary Wor. Bro. Kenneth Baker. The meeting was closed with a traditional Christmas carol sing-a-long led by Wor. Bro. David Ritchie accompanied by Bro. Charles Inder on the organ.
